Sleepmaker Convelute Drive Machine Adaptation

The Sleepmaker Convelute Machine is used to punch holes into the foam to manufacture mattresses. It required machine adaptation.

The drive mechanism was using a chain and sprocket system, and over time, the system was prone to failure.

This type of failure was particularly expensive due to production having to be halted, inconsistency in output and the replacement of parts.

The machine was unable to produce correct timing consistently over long periods and as a result, the system suffered catastrophic failures and crashes.

EGM analysed the situation and proposed installing a V-Belt system, which once installed meant the problem was alleviated.
